32 Chapter 4: Manage Storage Space
2 Go to Main Menu > Storage Manager > Volume, and click Create.
3 Select the RAID Group on which to create the volume and edit the description.
4 When creating volumes on RAID Groups for Multiple Volumes or iSCSI LUNs (Block-Level), you can allocate a
specific amount of storage capacity for the volume. Enter the desired capacity in the Allocate Size (GB) field.
Click Max to allocate all available capacity on the RAID Group.
Note: When creating volumes on RAID Groups for Single Volume or iSCSI LUN (Block-Level), all available
capacity on the RAID Group will be allocated to the volume automatically. The Allocate Size (GB) field will be
grayed out.
5 Click OK to start volume creation. Creation time varies.
More Information
maximum size of a shared folder by doing the following:
1 Create a volume and specify its capacity by following the instructions of "Create Volumes" (shown above).
2 Create a single shared folder on the newly-created volume. (See "Set Up Shared Folders" on Page 57 for
more information.)
3 After the setup is complete, the maximum size of the shared folder will be limited to be the same as the
volume capacity.
Edit Volumes
1 Go to Main Menu > Storage Manager > Volume, select the desired volume, and click Edit.
2 The Edit box will appear. You can change the description of a volume or edit the amount of allocated storage
capacity.
Note: Allocated storage capacity can be edited only on volumes created on RAID Groups for Multiple Volumes or
iSCSI LUNs (Block-Level).
Remove Volumes
1 Go to Main Menu > Storage Manager > Volume.
2 Select the desired volume and click Remove.
3 Click OK to confirm.
Note: Removing a volume deletes all existing data on the volume. Please confirm no important data is deleted.
